Every one of our plants comes with care instructions for specific amount of water and frequency.
Air plants are very hardy plants and low in maintenance. The kind of water you use is important. Filtered water, tap water that has sat long enough for the chlorine to dissipate, bottled water, or rain water are all great for air plants. Once a month, submerge the air plant in water for 2-3 hours (6 hours max.) upside down (or dunk in water every two weeks for quicker watering). Then shake gently to remove excess water. Allow them to air dry completely before turing them upright. Shaking them after a bath ensures that there will not be water sitting at the base of their leafs for too long, which could damage them. Do not place your air plant in direct sun. Indirect light is best and they will even grow and bloom in low light. We do not recommend keeping air plants in glass containers or terrariums, They need to have air flow so we created ceramic holders for them that replicate their natural environment as closely as possible.
